IMALUM design team actively studies our customers' profiles and systems, (including shapes, dimensions, tolerances, mechanical properties, metallurgy…), to design products that perfectly meet their specific expectations. Therefore, for all your aluminum profile projects, our design office is at your disposal to optimize your project.
Aluminum extrusion produces profiles with a wide variety of shapes, including solid, hollow, or semi-hollow. The principle is as follows: a hydraulic press pushes a cylindrical billet of aluminum through a die, hollow tools that determine the desired cross-sectional shape for the profile, depending on the nature of the aluminum alloy.
painted aluminum has undergone a remarkable development in recent years, particularly in the building sector, due to the infinite range of colors it can take on, its resistance to shocks and scratches, and its ease of maintenance.
Anodizing is an electrolytic treatment that gives aluminum excellent resistance to atmospheric aggression, and gives the metal its beautiful appearance, shiny or satin. It also makes it possible to incorporate organic or metallic color pigments into the metal, offering a range of metallic colors that meet various aesthetic or architectural criteria.
Thermal break is a process that allows the exterior face to be insulated from the interior face of the aluminum profile by introducing an insulating bar (most often in polyamide, but also in PVC or polyurethane) between both profiles.
This insulation prevents reciprocal temperature exchange. It acts as a barrier against the cold, retains the heat or freshness captured, limits water runoff and condensation.
Aluminum is easily machinable compared to other metals due to its lightness and malleability. In an alloy, it remains light and well machinable with high precision finishes. The most common forms of aluminum machining are drilling, tapping, milling, and welding.
Our laboratory is equipped with control devices to carry out a whole range of tests relating to the physical properties of the profiles, the chemical composition of the alloys, and the conformity of our surface treatments with the quality standards QUALICOAT, QUALIDECO and QUALANOD.
